Validation session of the research on the magnitude of delinquency phenomenon, its causes and possible solutions and the impacts assessment of delinquents rehabilitation in Rwanda from 2011 to 2019.

National Rehabilitation Service is conducting a "Research on the magnitude of delinquency phenomenon, its causes and possible solutions and the impacts of delinquents rehabilitation in Rwanda from 2011 to 2019.

On thursday 25 June, NRS had a meeting with various agencies including the Ministry of Local Government, Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion, Ministry of Youth and Culture, Rwanda National Police, Ministry of Justice, Rwanda Governance Board, City of Kigali, Rwanda Investigation Bureau, Districts and the National Commission for Children to review the research being conducted before it is published by the relevant authorities.

National Rehabilitation Service Ag Director General, ACP Gilbert Gumira Rwampungu, said that before the survey being released by the relevant authorities they had meeting with stakeholders to see if the study had really reached all parts. “We want exactly to know about all these behaviors that are detrimental to the community including drug addicts, drunkards, street children, illegal traffickers, beggars and so on.”

By the end of 2019, Research on the magnitude of delinquency phenomenon, its causes and possible solutions and the impacts of delinquents rehabilitation in various categories of Rwandans has begun and it is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
